Dr. Shahid is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists (ABA). and received his Medical Degree from Ibero American University in Santo Domingo. His residency training was at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center.

He has served in the Armed Forces of the United States as an Air Force Anesthesiologist at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Hospital. He achieved the rank of a USAF Major.

Dr. Shahid completed fellowship training in Pain and Palliative Medicine at Ohio State University and Interventional Pain at the University of Rochester in New York.

Dr. Shahid has had further training in spine interventions such as minimally invasive spine procedures to treat disc disease, nerve compressions causing pain and disability, and more.
